Currency
Costa Rica’s currency is the colón (CRC, ₡) or colones for plural. It was named for Christopher Columbus which is Cristóbal Colón in Spanish.
Language
Spanish is the official language of Costa Rica as well as the most predominantly spoken language throughout the country. There are also several indigenous languages recognized by the Costa Rican government that are spoken by the descendants of pre-Columbian inhabitants of Central America.
