Currency
The Euro (EUR, €) is the currency used in Germany. Cash is king in Germany, so while credit cards are often accepted in bigger cities and hotels, it’s a good idea to have cash readily available.
Language
The official language in Germany is Standard German. While 95% of the country speaks German or a dialect as their first language, English is also widely understood as its often the first foreign language students learn in school.
