There’s nothing quite like Dyngus Day in Buffalo if you’re looking for a fun and funky cultural festival! Not many people outside of Poland or a handful of Polish-American communities in the US have heard of the annual tradition held on Easter Monday. Over the years the celebrations have grown and Buffalo, New York has become the Dyngus Day capital of the USA.

Eating and Drinking My Way Through German Christmas Markets

German Christmas markets are a long-standing holiday tradition where people of all ages shop for gifts and gather to enjoy the spirit of the season. Part of experiencing Christmas markets in Germany is going on an eating adventure through them to eat your weight in delicious food as you wander. I found the best way to take in all the entertainment and stalls throughout the markets was with a steaming mug of glühwein in one hand and snacks in the other. There’s a huge variety of food available at all the markets and often some local specialties you can’t find anywhere else.

Feeling the Buffalove at RU’s Pierogi

*Update: As of October 2019 RU’s Pierogi closed their restaurant to focus on the manufacturing and wholesale business. You can still find their pierogi at RU’s Pierogi food truck, in local grocery stores, and being served up at some local restaurants.*

It had been on my list of restaurants to try for a long time before we made our way into RU’s Pierogi in Buffalo. Between friends giving it rave reviews and my sister giving my husband a gift card for his birthday, we finally had to go. RU’s is known for their delicious and creative pierogi served up in their food truck and restaurant.
