There’s nothing better when cruising along on a road trip than the perfect playlist to fuel your drive. I love a good mix of classics from pop to folk to R&B to rock to country, and it’s even better if the songs are about driving or cars. What can I say, I love a good theme and the cheesier, the better! The best road trip songs are the classics that everyone in the car can belt out together, these are some of my favorites.

When the ship docked in Chennai, India (which is also known by the name Madras) I wasn’t sure what to expect from this huge and diverse country other than it’s where the Taj Mahal is located. I was beginning to get used to hot, tropical weather as I’d just visited Vietnam and Cambodia’s temples including Angkor Wat.

Every summer Detroit, Michigan hosts the Woodward Dream Cruise, the world’s largest one day automotive event. An appropriate event for Motor City that’s held on the first paved road in the United States, Woodward Avenue. We have a friend in Detroit who’s a bit of a motorhead and invited us to come out to visit for the weekend. My husband had gone out to visit for the Dream Cruise a couple years before and was pretty excited to go back out to Detroit to see it again.

Where to Honeymoon?

After living on such a tight budget for over two years saving up for the wedding, we (okay, mostly me) were itching to take a big honeymoon trip. The last big trip we’d taken was to Punta Cana for my sister’s wedding and where we’d gotten engaged. However, we decided that we’d be too exhausted after the wedding to do a big trip justice. Instead, we opted to take a mini road trip through the Florida Keys. This ended up being a fantastic choice for us: tropical, relaxing, and carefree.

My family has Irish roots so from a young age I developed a deep love for all things Irish: music, dancing, food, traditions, etc. My sisters and I grew up Irish step dancing (yes, that’s the style of dance made famous by Riverdance) which meant St. Patrick’s Day was often a bigger deal in our house than Christmas. Despite having retired my ghillies and hard shoes years ago, at the first strains of a jig or reel, I still get a flutter in my heart and a twitch in my toes.
