Slowly wandering my way everywhere

The Liebster Award

The wonderful Natalie at Back in America has nominated me for the Liebster Award! She’s a travel blogger from the UK with the goal of visiting all 50 US states which is also on my bucket list! Make sure you check out her blog with all her rambles about her American travels. I’m continually surprised at how supportive the blogging community is, so thank you Natalie!

What is the Liebster Award?

The Liebster Award is intended to give new bloggers more exposure through social media nominations.  It gives bloggers like me a voice and encourages more people to interact with us and follow our journeys.

The Liebster Award offers a prize at the end for the blogger who comes up with the most creative and unique questions. However, like any great competition, certain rules apply.

Liebster Award

The Rules

  • Add a link to the Official Liebster Award page on your blog post
  • Answer the questions given to you, if nominated.  If you were not nominated, you can answer the questions on the Liebster Award blog.
  • Come up with 11 more unique and creative questions for your nominees to answer.
  • Comment on the Liebster Award blog post with a link directly to your Liebster Award blog entry.

My answers to the 11 questions given to me:

1. Where is your dream holiday destination?

Bora Bora. Hello, overwater bungalows and crystal blue waters lapping at white sand beaches shaded by palms. Throw in some scuba diving in the coral reefs and that’s a win all around. It’s a dream destination for sure! Maybe one of these days I’ll drag my husband across the world to visit…

2. If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?

Teleportation. This means no long waits or delays at airports or baggage limits. Take that airlines and all your fees!

3. You win £50 million on the lottery.  What is the first thing you would buy or do?

Well I won’t even bother converting that to USD since it’ll be more than $50 million, and as a travel blogger I feel like the obvious answer would be to buy plane tickets. First/Business class ones. Maybe on Emirates. Go big and go somewhere new! Things I should do would be to pay off any debts like mortgage and car loans, but really with that much money I’d probably take the big trip first and pay those off when I got home.

4. If you could make a one-minute phone call to your past or future self, at what age would you call yourself and what would you say?

I’d probably call my high school self and tell her not to be afraid of the world. Go out and try new things, see new places, you’ll love it.

5. What word or phrase do you use too much?

‘Really?’ (Heavy on the sarcasm, and usually directed at my husband or friends when they’re doing something ridiculous)

6. Name one thing you can’t live without?

My water bottle. I bought it on my study abroad program and it has gone with me everywhere since. It’s how I stay hydrated which literally keeps me alive!

7. If you woke up in 1000 years, after being cryogenically frozen, what would be the first thing you asked?

Let’s keep it simple, I’d most likely ask what year it is or where am I? I doubt I’d be alert enough after a 1,000 year nap to ask anything brilliant.

How Poky Little Wanderer would feel after a 1000 year coma per the Liebster Award

8. What trend or fad would you love to see come back?

Cocktail Parties – Get dolled up and have some snazzy cocktails with your friends at each other’s houses. I love a well crafted cocktail and an excuse to get dressed up!

9. What age would you like to stay forever and why?

Interesting question, but I’m not sure I’d want to stay one age forever. The beauty of life is living it and the constant change that comes along with that. While I feel like I should say a young age like 22 (back when I didn’t even know what a hangover really was yet), I think I’ll keep aging so I can keep moving and growing.

10. Favourite poolside drink?

Margarita. Hands down. Frozen or on the rocks, classic lime or fruity flavored – give me that margarita while I float around the pool.

11. Where is the farthest you’ve ever been from home?

Mauritius, which is about 9,400 miles from home in Western New York. And yes, I had to consult Google Maps to figure this out.
