Hand Sanitizer

Even in pre-pandemic days I always traveled with a little bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse. When traveling you’re touching all kinds of surfaces and encountering all kinds of people that might pass along some germs you don’t want. It’s comforting to be able to clean up even when there’s no soap and water available.

Chewing Gum

Chewing gum is a great thing to have handy when traveling for a myriad of reasons. Many people find it helpful to chew gum to equalize the pressure in their ears when flying. Sometimes routines can be thrown off making you go longer between brushing than normal so gum can help you feel a little more refreshed.

Travel Lint Roller

It can be difficult to keep your clothes looking neat when traveling, but a little travel sized lint roller can help with that. I always keep a small one in my travel kit for those moments when I want my clothes clear of lint, hair, etc. They make a great travel stocking stuffer and are easy to toss in a car glove compartment, purse, or carryon bag.

Snacks

I tend to get hangry (angry because I’m hungry) when traveling and having snacks handy like packs of nuts, trail mix, jerky, granola bars, etc. can really save the day. Additionally, to save time and money I often take Clif bars when I travel to have a quick breakfast on the go!

Nail File

Nothing worse than breaking a nail when you’re on the go, and having a nail file handy is great. However, what is it about nail files that attracts all the dust & crumbs in the bottom of a bag? I received one in a case like this years ago & have never looked back.

Tissues

Small travel size packs of tissues are something I frequently look for in my stocking as I try to keep a pack in my purse at all times and always have some with me when traveling! They can be tissues (obviously), napkins, and even toilet paper in an emergency (please don’t flush them though!)

Travel Soap Dish

Even though a lot people use body gel or liquid body washes, bars of soap are still common and shampoo and conditioner bars are also gaining in popularity. A travel soap dish makes a great travel stocking stuffer especially when it’s designed to keep the bar of soap out of any residual water and has a silicone band to ensure it doesn’t pop open in transit.

Wipes

Any mom will tell you what a life saver wipes can be. They’re a catch all solution for a number of situations you may run into while traveling. Feeling hot & sweaty but can’t shower right away? Wipe off to feel fresher instantly. Spill something on yourself, but you don’t have any napkins? Wipes to the rescue! The restroom you’re in out of toilet paper? Wipes are literally made for this! (Just don’t flush them!)

Earplugs

Traveling can bring a whole new set of challenges that people may not encounter everyday. Planes are loud, hotels can be loud, and sleep is terribly important. A cheap pair of earplugs might be that little something you didn’t know could save someone’s trip!

Luggage Tags

Make it easy to spot luggage and personalize your travel gear! Let’s face it, it seems like 95% people have a plain black suitcase and it can be hard to distinguish which one belongs to you. Make the task a little easier with a fun luggage tag.

Hand or Toe Warmers

Packs of hand warmers are a typical stocking stuffer in our family as we all make use of them between skiing, hiking, sporting events, and other chilly outings. For anyone living in or visiting places where freezing temperatures are commonplace it’s nice to be able to keep your extremities from getting frostbitten.

Toiletries

If someone’s flying and wants to have any liquids in their carry on, they’ll need to adhere the liquids rules for getting through security. This means that any liquids must be 3.4oz/100ml or less and all must fit in a 1 quart/1 liter sized ziplock bag.

Toilet Spray

Travel brings a lot of changes from normal routine including sharing more public spaces than you might normally do at home. Bringing a travel sized toilet spray can help when sharing hotel bathrooms with friends, family, or using public bathrooms.

Bandages

Bandages can be so great to have with you during travels to keep wounds clean and to protect your feet from blisters in uncomfortable shoes. I love this set of bandaids in a small plastic case so much I’ve kept one in my travel kit for years! The case protects them from getting ruined and it’s small enough to tuck away in a small pocket or purse.

Playing Cards

Whether traveling solo or in a group, playing cards are always great to have on hand. They’re a small and easy thing to toss into your bag and can provide hours of entertainment if your phone battery is low or you want to make friends over a friendly card game.

$10 Travel Stocking Stuffers

Toiletry Containers

If you know someone who is picky about their toiletries, perhaps travel sized reusable toiletry bottles would be a good stocking stuffer since they can then take their favorite products on their travels.

Gear Ties

Sure, twist ties can keep all your wires and electronics together. However, I’ve found these Gear Ties to be far more durable and long-lasting than the twist ties you get from your average loaf of bread. I use several for all my charging cables and bring a few spares for any miscellaneous needs as I go. With their small size & usefulness, they make the perfect travel stocking stuffer!

Travel Silverware Set

There are many situations that arise when traveling where having a set of travel silverware available is key. Whether you shop at a local market for a picnic under the Eiffel Tower or decide to grab takeout pasta in Rome, this silverware set will make your life easy. I love that this set comes with all the utensils you should need, a cleaning brush for the straws, and a case to keep it all in. In addition to being convenient, it also allows you to reduce plastic silverware usage that many restaurants offer with takeout.

Reusable Liquids Bags

Flimsy ziplock bags can only be used a couple times to hold your carryon liquids before they get holes or break down. These heavy duty clear plastic bags are compliant with TSA requirements, but will last much longer than the ziplock bags.

Immunity Boosters

No one wants to come down sick when they’re on vacation (or even when traveling for work). It can ruin the trip and make flying miserable. Especially in the world today when we’re all hyper aware of germs and immune systems, give a boost to someone’s immune system. I like Airborne’s effervescent tablets that dissolve in water as I find they travel quite well and don’t take up a lot of space, but some people prefer the Airborne gummies.

Doorstop Alarm

Safety is always a concern when traveling and something as small as this doorstop alarm can help set a traveler’s mind at ease. The doorstop will alarm will sound when the door to your hotel room or rental house is pushed open which can may scare away an intruder as well as give time for the traveler to wake up if they’re sleeping and call for help if needed.

Eye Mask

Much like the ear plugs I mentioned previously, an eye mask can help travelers keep up with their sleep in challenging circumstances.

SPF Chapstick

When traveling I need everything I pack to pull double duty, and products like chapstick that also include SPF for sun protection are ideal. Since lips aren’t always one’s first concern when considering sun protection, I love having a chapstick that takes care of it without me having to think about it. I love that this Sun Bum 3 pack has a variety of flavors and packs a SPF 30 for some great protection.

Luggage Scale

A luggage scale is one of my favorite travel gear items that I’ve found so handy to have with me when traveling with full size suitcases! Overweight fees for luggage are no joke, and it’s well worth tucking one of these into your bag to prevent paying them.

Portable Clothesline

If you’re looking for a great travel stocking stuffer for someone preparing for a big backpacking trip or who loves to travel on a budget, a portable clothesline might just be the perfect idea. This allows travelers to do laundry during their trip which can save money and allow them to pack lighter!

RFID Passport Holder Wallet

Available in a variety of colors, this RFID Passport Holder provides protection to personal information attached to credit card and ID chips found in passports and driver’s licenses. It has plenty of pockets for boarding passes, vaccination cards, cash, sim cards, and credit cards.

Reusable Shopping Bags

As more places try to reduce plastic bag usage, it’s a great idea to carry your own reusable shopping bags with you. I especially love these ones that fold up into a little pouch that you can just toss into your backpack, purse, etc. In addition to using them for shopping, they’re a great backup beach tote, or if you end up buying more souvenirs than fit into your luggage.

Toothpaste Tablets

More and more travelers are traveling with just carryon luggage these days which means they’re limited to the liquids restrictions to pass through security. These Weldental Chewtabs toothpaste tablets don’t use precious space in a liquids bag and come in a glass bottle which also reduces plastic. While they may seem odd to use at first, I’ve used them for domestic and international trips without having worry about going over my liquids quota. It’s easy to toss a few into a section of a pill organizer or into a small container for a quick weekend trip or just bring the whole jar in your travel kit.

Luggage Straps

Serving a dual purpose of helping to secure your suitcase from popping open during transit and also making it easier to identify your luggage at baggage claim. These bright luggage straps can really make luggage stand out from the crowd of black and silver suitcases at the airport.

Hair Tool Pouch

This heat resistant silicone hair tool pouch is the perfect travel stocking stuffer for the well groomed traveler in your life! Whether using a flat iron or curling wand, this pouch be used to protect surfaces and when done styling, the hot hair tool can be put right inside!

$15 Travel Stocking Stuffers

Neck Pillow

For those long flights, a neck pillow can make all the difference in getting some sleep and arriving at a destination ready to explore. This inflatable neck pillow is a personal favorite as it allows me to adjust how firm I want the pillow at any time and packs away into my purse when I’m not using it.

Waterproof Phone Pouch

Even though many phones today are waterproof or at least water resistant, having a waterproof barrier to protect them is still a good idea. I like to protect my phone using one of these waterproof pouches when I go to the beach to keep out the harsh saltwater and sand.

Travel Pill Organizer

Taking medications, vitamins, and supplements is an important part of most people’s routines, and when traveling it can be difficult to maintain that routine. This pill organizer can help you stay on track while keeping your various pills safe.

Long Charging Cable

One of my pet peeves when traveling is my charging cable not reaching the nearest outlet. Buying a long charging cable was a game changer as now it doesn’t matter where the outlet is, I’ve got 10ft of cord to reach it. I love this universal charger as it has all the different plug configurations for whatever devices need to be plugged in!

Travel Journal

Journaling can be a very rewarding activity and especially when traveling, it’s wonderful to sit down and reflect upon your experiences. A dedicated travel journal makes a fantastic travel stocking stuffer that will become a treasured moment as it’s filled.

Reef Safe Sunscreen

Protecting your skin and the environment at the same time! This mineral based sunscreen is the perfect size to slip into a stocking and your carryon as it’s available in a 3oz tube.

Universal Phone Mount

Many times airplanes don’t have inflight entertainment screens, so travelers end up watching movies or shows on their phones. Holding your phone or trying to prop it up at the right angle can get frustrating so a mount that allows you to watch while sitting comfortably is a great gift! This universal phone mount is adjustable for different phone models and tilts for a range of angles and heights.

Luggage Locks

Keeping your possessions secure is important while traveling, and a set of TSA compliant luggage locks can be helpful. Many times theft is a crime of convenience, so even though these little locks might not stop a thief who’s absolutely determined to get into your bags, they’ll make it inconvenient enough that your bag might be skipped over for one that hasn’t been secured.

Laundry Detergent Sheets

For the long term travelers or those who just like to travel light, having some laundry soap to wash their things on the go can be essential. These laundry detergent sheets don’t add any liquid to your bag, take up hardly any space, and easily dissolve in water for hand washing or for use at a laundromat.

Travel Wallet

While it may not be necessary to have a separate wallet for travel, I happen to love this RFID blocking travel wallet I was gifted by a friend a few years ago. It has plenty of space to hold several cards (credit, debit, ID, insurance, etc), larger pockets to hold cash, airline or train tickets, a small pocket for sim cards, and places for a pen, keys, and phone to fit inside.

$20 Travel Stocking Stuffers

Electronics/Cables Organizer

It seems these days that our bags can easily be overwhelmed with electronics, especially with remote work becoming more common. A dedicated electronics case to organize all those extra cables and electronic accessories can help tame the mess and keep your bag tidy.

Make Up Eraser

The Make Up Eraser is the perfect stocking stuffer for the makeup wearing traveler in your life. It’s included on my list of favorite travel gear as all you need is some warm water and this cloth to remove makeup.

Handheld Fan

If you’re visiting a hot destination, there’s nothing better than being able to cool off! In addition to providing some air movement, this portable handheld fan can also serve as a power bank and flashlight when the fan isn’t being used.

Wet/Dry Bag

Whether it’s a day trip to the local pool or an all out beach vacation, it’s always nice to be able to keep your wet things from soaking everything in your bag and keep important items dry. The snap handle makes it easy to hang off a stroller, backpack, or tote and the waterproof fabric is easy to wipe clean and hang to dry. These Bumkins Wet/Dry bags also come in a variety of colors and patterns giving you the ability to select the perfect bag for anyone on your list.

Jewelry Organizer

Packing your jewelry while keeping it safe and organized can be a challenge. This foldable organizer provides several section for different pieces of jewelry and has a magnetic closure to keep it all safely inside.

Compression Socks

Comfort is key when traveling, and arriving after a long flight with swollen feet and ankles isn’t fun. Flying can cause quite a few problems for circulation especially since we’re often forced to sit still for the duration of flights. A pair of compression socks can make all the difference and they make a great travel stocking stuffer!

Moisturizing Face Masks

Air travel can be so dehydrating, and I’ve seen a number of people start wearing face masks either on the planes or upon arrival to keep their skin fresh. Plus with the stress that often comes with travel, having some masks on hand for a little self-care can be fantastic. This 4 pack of hydrating face masks makes a great travel stocking stuffer!

Travel Planner

Know someone who loves planners and journals? This Travel Planner makes the perfect gift for the planner in your life with enough space to plan out 5 trips with packing lists, calendars, budgets, and more!

BevLedge

Ever struggle to fit everything on the tiny tray table during a flight? Well the BevLedge can help! It fits in the window of most commercial planes and has room to hold 2 beverages, a phone, and even some eyewear or a pen.

Foot Hammock

Airplanes are many things, but coach or economy seats are rarely considered comfortable. This foot hammock hangs over the arms of the tray table to give your feet a soft place to rest and more options for sitting comfortably during your flight.

$30 Travel Stocking Stuffers

Portable Charger

Keeping your electronics charged while on the go can be a challenge, and the last thing you want is your phone dying. Today’s phones are our means of communication, navigation, cameras, converting currency, language translation, and more so a portable charger makes the perfect travel stocking stuffer to keep us powered up.

Travel Cocktail Kit

For the cocktail enthusiast traveler, a travel cocktail kit will have them sipping in style on their next flight or hotel balcony. The kits include the ingredients to make three to six drinks (not including the alcohol) and are available for several different cocktails including Old Fashioned, Mojito, Margarita, Moscow Mule, etc.

Sound Machine

Many people use sound machines to help achieve their best sleep at home, so why not put a portable sound machine in their stocking so they can enjoy the same experience wherever they are in the world?

First Aid Kit

Hopefully the recipient of this travel stocking stuffer never has need of a first aid kit, but it’s an excellent item to have on hand while traveling. Whether you pick a kit that just has a few bandages and some antiseptic wipes, or a kit equipped with a variety of medical emergency items like this compact kit, it can provide some peace of mind knowing your gift is practical and helpful.

Plug Adapter

When traveling abroad something that can easily slip your mind is the orientation of electrical outlets in other countries. Having an international plug adapter in your bag allows you to plug in most of your electronics while traveling. (Please keep in mind that some items like hair dryers require voltage converters.)

Travel Umbrella

Don’t let a little rain put a damper on a trip! A compact travel umbrella is easy to toss into a stocking or suitcase in case of a rainy day abroad.

Apple AirTag

With the travel industry running short staffed these days, many people have had their luggage take a detour from their planned journey. If you’re stuffing the stocking of an apple user, give them the gift of some peace of mind with an Apple AirTag to help track their bags should they go rogue.

Collapsible Water Bottle

Space is at a premium when traveling, so a collapsible water bottle can be the perfect travel stocking stuffer. When not in use, this water bottle flattens down into a disc small enough to stash away into a pocket or purse and it’s even dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

Wine Bottle Protector Bags

These reusable wine bottle protectors make a great gift for the wine lover’s stocking. They cushion wine bottles (or beer, olive oil, vinegar, etc) to protect them from breakage, and seal shut to prevent any leaks into the rest of your luggage.

Travel Books

I love a good book to inspire a little wanderlust and they make great stocking stuffers. Whether you pick one full of travel inspiration or a more specific guidebook because you know someone has a trip planned there, it’s hard to go wrong.

$40 Travel Stocking Stuffers

Selfie Stick/Tripod

Travelers don’t always want to depend on strangers to get that perfect travel shot of them, so a selfie stick or tripod is a must! This selfie stick can be hand held or stand on its own as a tripod and includes a wireless remote shutter to capture those travel memories.

Toiletry Kit

This flat toiletry kit has become a favorite of my husband and I as it fits perfectly in our bags with our packing cubes. The hook makes it simple to hang and access your toiletries and the multiple compartments make it easy to stay organized on the go.

Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Anyone who has an electric toothbrush at home knows the struggle of having to use a regular toothbrush when away from home. This compact rechargeable electric toothbrush comes with a case to keep it clean in your toiletry bag. With a long lasting charge and a usb charging cable, this will take up much less space in your baggage than a standard electric toothbrush would.

Travel Blanket

We all know someone who’s always cold, and a travel blanket might be just the thing to make their travels more comfortable! Whether on an airplane, train, bus, or even in a hotel, it’s always nice to have a blanket to keep warm and take a comfortable nap.

LifeStraw Water Bottle

The LifeStraw Water Bottle allows travelers to fill their bottles from nearly any source and have safe water to drink right out of the integrated straw. Reusable water bottles help travelers reduce their impact on the destinations they visit and one with a built in filter helps protects them from waterborne illness and contaminants.

Cigar Travel Humidor

If you have a cigar lover in your life, a small travel humidor might be the perfect gift to help them enjoy their vacation. For bonus points you can include a Boveda humidity control packet to keep their cigars in ideal condition.

Rash Guard

Spending all day at the beach can be a blast, but sometimes it can be uncomfortable. A rash guard will help prevent chafing when participating in water sports and provide UV protection. I use mine whenever I snorkel so I can be comfortable and use less sunscreen.

Travel Electric Shaver

Maintaining your grooming routine while traveling can be a challenge, so anything that can make it easier makes for a great travel stocking stuffer. This travel electric shaver runs on two AA batteries, eliminating extra cords from your luggage.

Wearable Neck Fan

Keeping cool while also keeping your hands free is great for traveling in hot weather, and this wearable fan just looks like you have a pair of headphones around your neck.

An insulated Yeti tumbler makes the perfect road trip companion and travel stocking stuffer as it keeps drinks the temperature they’re meant to be for long periods of time. They’re available in a wide variety of colors which makes it easy to find the perfect one for anyone on your list!

$50 Travel Stocking Stuffers

Trtl Neck Pillow

The Trtl Travel Pillow is perfect for the minimalist traveler as it’s lightweight and folds up flat in their luggage when not in use. The soft material is comfortable against your neck, but the built in support keeps your neck and head supported for resting on the go.

Lighted Travel Mirror

This Lighted Travel Mirror would make the perfect travel stocking stuffer for the well groomed traveler in your life. No bigger than most tablets, it folds up for safe transportation and features 3 different colors of LED lighting to meet everyone’s preferences.

Bluetooth Speaker

Whether hanging out in their room or lounging on the beach, this waterproof and portable bluetooth speaker allows travelers to listen to their favorite tunes wherever they are. The compact size and waterproof features make it a great travel stocking stuffer.

Travel Clothes Steamer

This compact clothes steamer is a great stocking stuffer for the business traveler in your life. Showing up to meetings with your clothes wrinkled from being packed up in a suitcase doesn’t give the best impression, and hotel irons (if they’re even provided) can be hit or miss.

Compass Necklace

Even when I’m not traveling, the subject is often on my mind and I love that this compass necklace can represent that love for travel. The sterling silver charm will last many years and arrives with a cleaning cloth as well as gift wrap.

Google Chromecast

The ability to watch all our favorite shows is something we often take for granted at home, so when you’re traveling it’s lovely to have that same capability. A Google Chromecast plugs into the HDMI port on a TV and allows you to cast your streaming from your phone to the TV.

Bluetooth Transmitter Adapter

This adapter allows you to connect up to two wireless bluetooth headphones or ear buds to the audio output from any device with an audio jack. Want to use your wireless headphones to watch the in-flight entertainment or watch a show with a friend on the train? This bluetooth transmitter adapter is the perfect solution.

Travel Sheets

Hotel sheets can sometimes be questionable, especially for those who are obsessed with cleanliness. Bringing your own set of travel sheets can help with peace of mind, particularly if staying at budget accommodations.

Mini Water Flosser

I know a number of people who swear by their water flossers, so this mini version makes the perfect gift for when they travel. The small size makes it convenient to take on the go and maintain the same hygiene routine as you would at home.

Voltage Converter and Adapter

When traveling internationally, bear in mind that it’s not just the configuration of the plugs that can be different, the voltage may be different as well. Plug adapters usually just adapt your plugs to the right electrical outlet configuration, and don’t convert the voltage. For many electronics this isn’t a problem, but if you’re traveling with hair styling tools like hair dryers or curling irons, etc, the voltage difference can fry your items. This voltage converter and adapter can do both depending on the setting you select.

Travel Stocking Stuffers

There’s so many travel stocking stuffers out there that filling your favorite travelers stocking should be a breeze. In addition to all the ideas I’ve listed above, don’t forget that gift cards in any amount fit perfectly into a stocking as well and there’s plenty available that would be great for travel: Uber/Lyft, Airbnb, airlines, Amtrak/Metro and many more!

What are your favorite travel stocking stuffers?
